Governor Granholm, Lt. Governor Cherry Endorse Sen. Barack Obama for President

"More than any other state in the nation, Michigan needs a president who will fight for Michigan and our working families," the governor and lieutenant governor said in a joint statement. "Whether through job creation, enacting fair trade policies, worker training programs, or universal health care, Senator Obama will be a president who fights for all of us, and that is why we will be fighting for his election in November."

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and Lt. Governor John D. Cherry, Jr. today endorsed U.S. Senator Barack Obama for president. Governor Granholm and Lt. Governor Cherry issued their endorsement following Senator Clinton's formal endorsement of Senator Obama.

Governor Granholm and Lt. Governor Cherry both expressed support for Senator Clinton and the issues she fought for on the campaign trail.

"While we have been enormously proud of Senator Clinton and the tough campaign she waged on issues that are important to all of us, we are equally proud to wholeheartedly and enthusiastically endorse Senator Barack Obama and the change in leadership he promises our nation."
